Managing Conflict with Confidence
Half-Day Training
Workplace conflict is on the rise. Are you ready?
Today’s pace of change is relentless. We all need to pivot, adapt, and move faster than we have before, and the ability to have tough conversations quickly and effectively isn’t a nice-to-have anymore.
This half-day training builds that capacity across your whole team. You’ll get real skills and frameworks for the real conversations your people are avoiding, rushing, or getting wrong.
When conflict doesn’t get resolved everything slows down.
A strained relationship between two team members affects everyone. A hard conversation that keeps getting postponed becomes a decision that never gets made. A failed negotiation between two departments makes your silos even more rigid.
The problem isn’t that your people are difficult. It’s that most people were never taught how to have a tough conversation well. They either avoid it, or they go in without the skills to make it productive.
That’s a solvable problem.
What to Expect in This Training
This action-oriented and concrete training builds real capacity for conflict conversations across your whole team. It is a practical, skills-based experience that changes how your people show up when things get hard.
We cover four areas that together shift how your team handles friction:
- Mindset — Understanding your own conflict styles and emotional responses so you can choose how you react rather than just reacting.
- Problem-solving — Using principled negotiation to move past positions to find solutions that actually work for everyone involved.
- Conflict conversations — Concrete tools and frameworks for having the hard conversation clearly, fairly, and without it blowing up.
- Conflict systems — how organizational processes and governance rules can set up some conflicts for failure, and what to do about it.
Half-day • $4500 • In-person or virtual

Why Do This Training?
Speed
We waste so much time doing end-runs around complete departments because we’re afraid of conflict. Want to finish ahead of schedule? Then learn to do conflict well.
Agility
My culture data show that organizations who handle change well also report the ability to deal with conflict easily. If you want agility, you need better conflict.
Retention
The top talent won’t tolerate a workplace full of drama and unresolved conflict, at least not for long. Create a workplace people want to be at, which means handling conflict.
In my twenty-year professional career, I’ve participated in numerous courses targeted at advancing business, workplace, and personal skills, including managing conflicts. Jamie’s Conflict Resolution Training has been the first course that I’ve actually requested to revisit and re-absorb. Compelling, pragmatic, and concrete, Jamie masterfully guides the learner through increasingly complex scenarios that find the light in the gray, and leaves the learner with tools for the real world.”

My Approach
Interactive.
Theory-based.
Energizing.
The half-day combines short teaching segments with real discussion and hands-on simulations, so your team is practicing, not just listening.
I bring a master’s degree in conflict analysis and resolution into the room, but not in a way that feels academic. The theory is there because it explains why the tools work, which means people actually use them afterward instead of forgetting them by Monday.
And because four hours is a long time to be serious, I include some humor and fun. People will leave energized rather than drained.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this training work virtually?
In-person is the preferred option for sure, but yes you can do this virutally. All the exercises can be run as “breakout rooms” on zoom, and I add more breaks to account for the time being on screen.
What if our team is in the middle of a big conflict?
It depends on how “big” it is, but if the conflict is going to spill into the training, it’s better to arrange for a direct intervention with the team. If it’s significant but not overwhelming, then the training can be very helpful.
Does everyone need to attend?
If you have the budget and the bandwidth, then it’s best that everyone get trained. If you need to stage it, I’d start with managers and team leaders.
What’s included in the $4,500?
In addition to the half day training, you’ll get all the handouts and exercise materials, the slides, additional resources I’ve written on conflict skills and conflict systems, and direct follow up calls with me if you encounter tough conflict situations in the future.
We’re very small. Is there a lower-cost option?
Individuals can take this course online and asynchronously through a site called LearnFormula.
How is this different from other conflict trainings?
There will be some overlap in the core content. My differentators are the breadth of my conflict experience (from international to organizational), my ability to connect the training to workplace culture and systems, and my commitment to having fun with it.
