You’ve probably heard me say this before, but Maddie and I are activists. While we love to write and think big thoughts, we are ultimately not satisfied until what we are doing actually helps people to do things differently. To make change. To impact their world.
This is true for Humanize. We love our book and we are thrilled that people are reading it, but in the end we want people to do something about it. We want YOU to actually start humanizing your organization.
So we offer as many supports as we can. Our first effort was to create four downloadable worksheets. There is one for each of the four human elements (open, trustworthy, generative, and courageous). Now we are adding another resource:
The “How Human is Your Organization” quiz.
It’s a free online assessment. It has 60 questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete. It is for individuals who work in organizations (at any level). You simply answer the questions, rating your organization on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of how much the particular question/statement accurately describes where you work.
At the end of the quiz, you’ll see your score, broken down by each of the four elements. And if you choose to email the results to Maddie and me (we won’t share them with anyone, don’t worry), then we will actually look them over and give you a quick opinion about where you might want to get started, based on your scores.
See where we’re headed with this? We want you to get started. The time to Humanize is now. And it’s easier than you think. Of course, we’re also interested in collecting data over time, so even if you don’t want our advice on how to get started, please go over and complete the quick assessment. We’re interested to see if there are patterns in terms of where the opportunities and challenges lie.
