I am blogging from my mobile phone at the great ideas conference in Florida. Am I “moblogging” because I am on the beach or at some web 2.0 session? No. I can’t blog from my laptop because the hard drive died on Friday. I am reinstalling software and haven’t quite set up the Typepad stuff yet.
So my weighty, profound leadership message for today is: back up your hard drive. Today. First thing.
Well, Jamie, your blog finally got me to do what countless other warnings from my tech guy, my friends, my colleagues, my mother, etc. could not get me to do: back up my hard drive. I’ve been putting this off literally for years and finally, after checking out your blog on Friday, did something about it. I used AT&T Online Vault and for at least 3 days I’m happy with it. It’s perfect for me because I set it up once and now never have to think about it again (automatic backups occur daily). Thanks, and let it never again be said that your blog doesn’t change peoples’ lives!
Amen! As a Mac guy, I am now going with .mac, which also backs up to online. And it is smart enough to save my settings, bookmarks, passwords, etc.
Glad I could help!
