With management guru Peter Drucker’s passing, I was inspired to get and (finally!) read his classic "Managing the Non-Profit Organization: Principles and Practices" book. I haven’t finished it, but here’s my favorite quote so far:
Listening is not a skill; it’s a discipline. Anybody can do it. All you have to do is keep your mouth shut. (p. 20)
Consciously shut your mouth, and see what you learn.
Check out my notes from the book at nicksbookblog.blogspot.com. I thought the book was really awesome and it is as fresh today as it was 15 years ago!
